    Welcome to Buckland & Chipping Parish Council

Buckland and Chipping is a civil parish in East Hertfordshire, located along the A10 (historic Roman Ermine Street) between Buntingford and Royston. It consists of the villages of Buckland and Chipping and forms part of the Buntingford Community Area. The title of Buckland and Chipping Parish Council was formally recognised in East Hertfordshire District Council's Community Governance Review in 2026.
The parish has various registered common land for which the Parish Council is responsible for its protection and maintenance.
The parish features the historic St Andrew's Church, the grade II listed Georgian manor house Chipping Hall and local walking paths.
The Countryman Tea Rooms at Chipping is a popular weekend destination.
The parish council hosts a community fireworks event every November which is well supported by local residents and it produces and delivers its community newsletter to all homes, six times a year.
A resident administers a WhatsApp group which provides useful information and updates to local people.

Countryside Service

Rev Mark Bridgen, our new vicar, is now organising agricultural and countryside services across the benefice. The next service will be held in Buckland at 10am on Monday 10th February. This will be a Good Shepherd/ Lambing service and all are welcome.
