You can actively get involved by volunteering to take part in a Community DriveSafe scheme. DriveSafe works differently from previous neighbourhood speed initiatives – communities will be empowered to ensure the safety of their local area by coming together and being given the means to take action themselves.

Volunteers are given training and speed display equipment to stand at the roadside monitoring passing vehicles.

Speeding motorists are sent an advisory letter and those who speed frequently could receive a visit from a police officer.

The parish council is seeking at least 10 names, of which at least six would be willing to volunteer to stand at the roadside, in order to set up the scheme which is run by Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire.

To volunteer, please contact: clerk@bucklandandchipping-pc.gov.uk supplying your full name, address, email and telephone number.
